Christmas number 1 odds change after anti-Boris Johnson song is released but LadBaby leads race

There's been a big change to the Christmas number 1 odds after the unexpected release of an anti-Boris Johnson track.

The festive top spot is always the most coveted of the year as acts battle it out to claim it. The lucky acts who've had more than one include Cliff Richard and Spice Girls and LadBaby.

And the social media sensation, real name Mark Hoyle is leading the race to get three in a row with his new single Don't Stop Me Eatin'.

LadBaby got his first number 1 at the end of 2018 with We Built This City (On Sausage Rolls) and did the same last year with I Love Sausage Rolls.

At the time of writing, after claiming the UK Big Top 40 Christmas number 1 on Sunday night, his junk food inspired cover of Journey classic Don't Stop Believin' occupied the top 2 positions on iTunes after the release of a second version featuring Ronan Keating on Monday morning.

But right behind him at number 3 is an expletive filled ode to the Prime Minister - Boris Johnson is a F***ing C*** by The K**ts.

The number 1 spot is currently occupied by Mariah Carey's All I Want for Christmas, which has finally gone to the top 26 years after being beaten by East 17's Stay Another Day.

But Betfair don't think Mariah will be number 1 come Christmas Day when the number 1 will be revealed on Top of the Pops.

Betfair spokesman Sam Rosbottom said: "LadBaby has reigned supreme in the festive charts for years now, every time surprising himself with a sausage roll-themed cover version to raise hundreds of thousands of pounds for food parcels.

"The YouTuber and his family capture the hearts of the nation and after such a tough year is odds-on 1/7 to give him his hat-trick of wins ahead of other notable efforts from the likes of Justin Bieber and the NHS Choir when the official number one is announced on Christmas Day.
