'Christmas miracle' as boy, 4, is rescued after six hours trapped in a narrow well

A four-year-old boy was pulled from a well by rescuers, six hours after falling down it.

The boy was stuck around nine feet underground for hours as first responders worked to dig the young boy out.

He was saved from an eight-inch-wide water well in Garceno, Texas.

Authorities were first alerted to the incident at around 4:40pm on Tuesday afternoon, where he was stuck deep underground.

The rescue effort was a combination of the sheriff’s office, La Rosita Fire Department, Roma Fire Department, Mission Fire Department and the Starr County Memorial Hospital Emergency Services.

Using chisels, the first responders worked for hours to get the boy out of the narrow water well.

Video footage shows the young boy being rescued from the hole, to the applause of crowded relieved onlookers.
