A unique Covid-secure Santa's grotto and a spectacular light show will come to Bolton town centre this weekend.
Both are part of the 'Bolton Christmas Festival' which has descended upon Victoria Square in the past week.
A marquee erected outside the Town Hall is home to the 'festive bar' - featuring a number of live performances every day until Christmas Eve.

Traditional Christmas markets also opened on Thursday (December 16) with almost 60 independent stalls selling gifts, food and drinks, until Sunday (December 19).
Throughout the town centre there are also attractions such as children's amusement park rides and a huge snow globe that people can step inside.
This weekend, the festivities will step up a notch with the arrival of 'Santa’s Studio' in Crompton Place Shopping Centre.
Described as a Covid-secure way to meet Father Christmas, children will visit a real TV studio and meet Santa’s helpers as well as being able to chat with Santa himself via a live link to the North Pole.
Each child will receive a Christmas present and their video chat can be downloaded afterwards to share with family and friends.
Mesmerising light show 'Winter Owls' will also be projected onto Bolton Town Hall on 15 minute loops, between 5.30pm and 7.30pm on Saturday evening (December 18).
