Christmas is coming

An illuminated large Christmas tree attracts visitors on Saturday at the Sapporo Factory shopping facility in Chuo Ward, Sapporo.

The about 40-year-old, 15-meter-high Sakhalin fir tree that grew in Hiroo, Hokkaido, is decorated with 40,000 LED lights, which were turned on that day, and 1,300 ornaments. The tree is on display through Dec. 25.
