Tottenham Hotspur have announced the club record signing of Lyon midfielder Tanguy Ndombele, much to the joy of Spurs fans.
The 22-year-old had emerged as one of Mauricio Pochettino's priority targets since the beginning of the transfer window, and the Argentine will be happy to get the signing over the line, with the midfielder singing a six-year contract at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
Ndombele becomes Tottenham's second signing of the day after the earlier arrival of Leeds United midfielder Jack Clarke, although the latter is returning to his former club on loan for the 2019/20 season.
The deal sees Spurs pay a club record €60m to Lyon, with incentives meaning that the fee could rise up to €70m, which smashes the club's transfer record of £42m paid for Davinson Sanchez.
The captures of Ndombele and Clarke become Tottenham's first transfers in almost 18 months, after they were the only club not to make a single signing during the 2018/19 season.
It is believed that Ndombele possesses the quality in order to push Spurs to the next level after their appearance in the Champions League final last season.
