Christmas gift guide 2020: A list of nearly 60 amazing Dublin businesses to buy from this festive season

Christmas is going to be a little different this year but that shouldn't stop you from having a merry time.

Many people found their festive shopping plans cut short when Ireland went into Level Five lockdown a few weeks ago.

But that hasn't stopped businesses from quickly adapting to online shopping.

Local businesses who usually rely on footfall traffic have suffered the most during the pandemic. They need our help more than ever now.

So why not ditch big names like Amazon and other high street stores in favour of small, independently run stores?

Here we bring you a list of over 50 Dublin-based businesses you can buy from this Christmas.

Drift Knits

Drumcondra woman Deirdre started Hoopla Focal as a way of "celebrating our Irish language and the cúpla focal that most of us have".

Costelloe+Costelloe

This adorable city centre store does everything from face masks, scarves, gloves, bags, berets, and even canine couture.

They recently rolled face mask gift bundles which contain three cotton face masks along with a pocket-size Bumbóg artisan hand sanitiser for €29.50.

Thomp2 Socks

Storm Trooper Socks €9.99 (Thomp2)

Thomp2 Socks was started by Tallaght man Finbar Barry for his son Thomas who has Down Syndrome and a number of other serious illnesses.

5% of any profits are donated to the St. John of Gods organisation who has cared for Thomas for many years.

Sock Co Op

This Dun Laoghaire based company makes "unisex panoramic socks that celebrate the unique Places and Landmarks of Ireland".

GAA Baby

GagaBaby Dublin GAA Babygro and Hat Set €24.99 (Gaga Baby)

Gaababy has everything you need for your little GAA fan. The shop have their own unique collection of adorable merchandise including county babygros, mini solid ash hurleys, hat & bib sets, club and county cardigans and customised hoodies and t-shirts.

Siolog

Siolog has a fantastic range of baby clothes including the most adorable line of linen dresses.

They also donate 1% of all their sales to children's hospice LauraLynn.

Celtic Tweed

Celtic Tweed is a sustainable fashion brand based in Balbriggan. A brand spokesman said the brand is "reimagining Balbriggan towns long history of hosiery, weaving and manufacturing".

Rainbow Kids Boutique

This Finglas based ethical fashion store has some of the most adorable and colourful kids clothes we have seen.

Little Larks Clothing

Advertised as "lovely clothes for little ones" and we can confirm they indeed look lovely. You can see for yourself here.

Indigo and Cloth

The Temple Bar store has some fantastic men's clothing and accessories (and they also sell great coffee)!

Louis Copeland and Sons

The menswear brand is offering 30-minute one-to-one Zoom appointments to offer customers a fantastic in-store experience.

A portion of the funds raised will be donated to CMRF Crumlin which is the fundraising body for Our Lady’s Children’s Hospital, Crumlin, Ireland’s largest paediatric hospital and the National Children’s Research Centre.
