Christmas Eve opening times for Tesco, Sainsbury's, M&S, Asda, Morrisons, Aldi, Lidl and Co-op

Christmas is just around the corner, which means it's time to get those last-minute items from the shops.

That's why it is worth knowing about what supermarkets will be open on Christmas Eve, as multiple major stores have changed their festive opening hours.

Quite a few retailers have extended their opening hours in the build-up to the big day to make sure that you get your turkey and trimmings.

Others have announced that they will be closing early, so that staff members can spend some more time with their loved ones this year.

A few stores have also made major changes to their opening hours on Boxing Day and New Year, meaning that you might have less time to shop for any household essentials between now and January 2.

To make sure that you don't get caught out without any extra pigs in blankets or roasties this Saturday, we have a full run-down on the Christmas Eve and festive opening hours for supermarkets across Scotland.
