He was rushed to Victoria Hospital for treatment.

The 47-year-old charged in connection with the alleged attempted murder is due to appear at Kirkcaldy Sheriff Court on Thursday December 30.

The arrest comes as police officers locked down Cairnwell Place earlier today and blocked the street off with riot vans.

Local residents reported their gardens being searched as they watched officers scour the street looking inside bins, under vehicles and in drains.
