Christmas channel showing non-stop festive films to launch later this month

It's safe to say that we’re all in need of an end of year pick me up after a fairly dismal 2020.

Getting into the festive spirit in Autumn is usually scorned at, but it might just be the welcome relief Scots need during these unprecedented times.

Now, a channel that plays non-stop Christmas films will be coming to rescue later this month.

The Sony Movies Christmas pop-up channel will launch on Freeview, Sky, Virgin and Freesat on September 24 - three months before the big day itself.

A full list of movies available on the channel have not been made available, but the film company has revealed a series of UK premieres due to air.

A Beauty and the Beast Christmas, Marrying Father Christmas, The Christmas Cabin and A Christmas Eve Miracle are among those to be shown, according to Heart.

But let's hope some of the big name favourites will also appear, like It’s a Wonderful Life, Elf and Home Alone.

The channel will remain on air until January 2021 - plenty of time to sink your teeth into some classics.

Scots will be able to access the channel on Freeview 50, Sky 319, Virgin 424 and Freesat 303.
