Boris Johnson has decided to relax coronavirus rules over Christmas to give people a chance to see their close friends and family.
After a difficult year, the Government will change the social contact restrictions but only for a short period of time.
From Wednesday, December 23 to Sunday, December 27 , the public will be given five days to form an exclusive Christmas bubble.
Christmas bubbles can be up for three households large but the Prime Minister stressed that this was a 'maximum' and not a 'target'.
Despite restrictions being eased, there are still rules and advice that needs to be followed. For example, you can only be in one bubble.

Those forming a Christmas bubble should spend as minimal time together as possible and should not stay overnight unless unavoidable.
Those who are over 70 or clinically vulnerable should also carefully think about the risks of forming a bubble.
They should try to meet outdoors where possible, wash hands regularly and keep distance from those they do not live with.

Christmas bubbles, support bubbles and childcare bubbles are all different things and have their own specific rules.
If you choose to form a Christmas bubble there are three main rules:
- you can only be in one Christmas bubble
- you cannot change your Christmas bubble
- your Christmas bubble should not include people from more than three households
- do not form a bubble if you are self-isolating.
It is important that you keep your Christmas bubble as small as possible.
