Christine Scott found: Edinburgh police thank public for help tracing woman with dementia

A missing 76 year old has been found after failing to return from a dog walk this morning.

Police in Edinburgh earlier issued an urgent appeal to help trace an pensioner with dementia.

Christine Scott (76) left her home in Polwarth Gardens to walk her dog around 8.30am this morning: Monday 24 August 2020.

She had arranged to meet her daughter back at her house at 9.30am but did not return.

Speaking at the time, Inspector Caroline Flynn from Drylaw Police Office said: “Christine has dementia and her family are extremely concerned about her.

“I would urge members of the public to please look out for her in the Edinburgh area and report any sightings to the police.

“Anyone with information regarding her whereabouts can contact Police Scotland through 101, quoting incident number 1056 of Monday 24 August 2020.”

The Police then updated their social media pages with the news that Ms Scott had been traced later that afternoon.
