Christine McGuinness' transformation from beauty queen to gym bunny

Christine McGuinness is known for her amazing figure and pristine appearance but over the past 10 years she's transformed her look.

Christine, 32, has had three children, but has managed to keep her trim figure through her love of the gym.

The former Miss Liverpool has always been beautiful, but over the past decade has transformed from a fresh-faced beauty queen into a dedicated gym addict.

Christine, who is married to Top Gear host Paddy McGuinness, regularly shares updates of her routine in the gym and through lockdown she's also been sharing her home workouts.

We decided to delve into our archives and see how Christine has transformed over the years.

Beauty queen days

Christine Martin, from Halewood, won several beauty pageants during her teenager years, after being noticed for her modelling prowess.

She featured in the Chester Model Girl competition in 2005 and was crowned Miss Commonwealth in 2007.

Christine was always slim, but instead of the blonde locks she has now she modelled with her natural brunette hair.

She also had a more fresh faced look, rather than the contoured make-up she wears now .

Christine won the Miss Liverpool title during 2007 aged 18, and her modelling career took off.

Modelling career and meeting Paddy

Christine became a regular on the Liverpool modelling circuit, often appearing with people such as Abbey Clancy at events.

During a fashion show for Cricket at the Liverpool Tennis Tournament her life changed forever when she met her future husband Paddy.

Christine kept her slim figure and still had brunette hair, but started to wear more make-up as she entered her early 20s.

Paddy and Christine's romance blossomed and in 2009 he popped the question on Christmas Day.

The pair wed in a lavish ceremony at Thornton Manor in Wirral in June 2011 after more than three years together.

Pregnancy

After two years of happy marriage the couple announced they were expecting twins and in 2013 the couple welcomed Leo and Penelope into the world.

At the 2013 Brit Awards Christine appeared on the red carpet with Paddy with her bump on show.

Pregnancy clearly suited Christine as she glowed in her tight blue dress, she also started to put blonde highlights into her hair.

When the twins were 18 months old Christine decided to undergo a boob job and increase her bust size from a 32D to a 32E.

Following the twins' birth Christine worked hard to regain her pre-pregnancy figure, but said that having children had made her realise she was "too skinny" and she started to try and build muscle in the gym.

Christine shared her gym journey with her fans, as she built envy-inducing abs and a toned frame.

In 2016 she announced she was pregnant again and charted how her body was changing on Instagram.

Christine again blossomed and glowed as her bump grew bigger.

Following the birth of daughter Felicity Christine was vocal about not rushing to lose her baby weight.

She said: "I have lost a lot of muscle tone, I have cellulite, loose skin and my body is nothing like it used to be. But I have 3 amazing children!. They're my absolute world, my happiness. The reason I love, live and laugh every day.

"I can't exercise for at least 6 weeks after my c-section but I'm not in any rush. Recovery is key. And I'm far too busy being madly in love with my babies ❤"

Christine finally showcased her three stone weight loss, three months after the birth.

The Real Housewives of Cheshire and gym obsession

In 2017, Christine revealed she had about ending her life while battling an eating disorder as a child.

In response to comments from a troll branding her "too skinny" Christine decided to open up about her battle.

She said: “From 13-18 I suffered from an eating disorder that was close to anorexia and I know how awful it is.

“I worried my mum sick, I was exhausted, my periods stopped and doctors said there might be future problems with my fertility and I had to take iron tablets.

“I’d lie and say I’d eaten when I hadn’t to avoid family meals and being a model I was keen to keep up with all the other girls.”

Christine is now much healthier and credits the gym with helping her mental health more than her physical health.

In 2017 Christine changed her locks from brunette with blonde highlights to full blonde.

And as she pledged not to have any more children with Paddy she headed back to the gym and started to share more of her workouts with her followers.

In 2018 Christine joined the cast of the Real Housewives of Cheshire and showed off more of her glamorous outfits during her time on the show.

She also travelled with the show and shared regular updates to her Instagram, including several bikini shots.

Over the past couple of years Christine's look has stayed largely the same, as she maintains her flawless make-up and hair.

Christine has recently launched her own fitness and nutrition programme called "My Vibe" so fans can follow her workouts for themselves.

In lockdown Christine has been maintaining her routine even getting her children involved in her workouts.

She's also been enjoying creating hilarious tick tocks.
