Christine McGuinness revealed that she felt like a carer rather than a mum to her autistic twins on GMB this morning.
The mum-of-three said she had no idea her twins Leo and Penelope were autistic until a paediatrician pointed it out.
She said: "The twins were non verbal until they were four.
"This sounds awful, but I used to feel like their carer rather than their mum, but the last year it's got so much better.
"I think it's really helpful to talk about it - the more people that understand about it, the more it helps."
Host Ranvir asked Christine if the twins were aware they were different to other children.

She said: "They're doing so well, I don't think they're aware they are autistic.
"They have one to one support at school, so that might signal they're different - but the school's wonderful and the children accept them just as they are."
Christine and Paddy also have a two-year-old daughter - Felicity - who is already displaying signs of autism.
Christine says she believes the children's autism could be inherited, as she sees autistic traits in herself and her husband Paddy.

She said: "I think we both have little traits of autism - I really struggle with socialising, believe it or not, and I'm very fussy with food - I like plain, dry, beige food usually. And I think Patrick also has some traits."
