Christine McGuinness misses McDonald's as her autistic children have 'barely eaten' in lockdown

Christine McGuinness has revealed that her children are "barely eating" during lockdown.

The model, 32, said McDonald's was the only meal her three children would eat together and since all branches have shut she's been struggling to feed them.

She shares six-year-old twins Leo and Penelope and Felicity, three, with comedian Paddy McGuinness and all three of their kids have autism.

Taking to Instagram on Sunday, Christine shared a picture of three Happy Meals and a bag of food from the main menu that the family had enjoyed before the fast food company temporarily closed its doors amid the coronavirus crisis.

The mum-of-three explained that autism means they only eat food that they're comfortable with and McDonald's was one food they all liked.

She wrote: "The one meal all three of my children would eat McDonald's we miss you!

"I never thought I would wish for fast food for my children but as I expected the changes have affected them and two of my children are barely eating, it's been like this for over 3 weeks now."

Christine pointed out this is not about her kids being "fussy eaters" but about their autism.

She continued: "This is not 'fussy eaters' this is down to struggling with change, massive change in their little lives.

"I know we are not alone, I've had so many messages about McDs!

"If you know, you know.. McDs is a 'safe' food, it always looks the same, it tastes the same, the texture and smell is always the same.. and it's beige and dry!"

It comes after she begged stockpilers to stop panic buying for the sake of her children and other vulnerable people.

She said they were restricting her little ones' diet because they only eat certain foods.
