Christine McGuinness was in tears as as she confronted her fears on tonight's Strictly The Real Full Monty

The mum-of-three is appearing on this year's edition of the ITV show where 12 celebrities bare all to raise awareness for cancer research.

The former Miss Liverpool participated as four of her aunties and mum raised have all suffered with breast cancer.

However, Christine has recently been diagnosed with autism and struggled with the first dance routine as she admitted she would only feel comfortable dancing as part of a group.

Christine was visibly upset during a later segment when she was unable to make eye contact while performing with James Jordan.

She opened up about her condition to the former Strictly Come Dancing professional and admitted it's something she particularly struggles with before confessing how she worries she is going to be "misunderstood".

Christine has three children who have all been diagnosed with autism and said she was determined to carry on in order to set an example for them.

She said: "They're one of the reasons why I'm doing this because if I can't push myself then how can I expect them too."

Viewers of the show on Twitter praised Christine's inspirational journey.

Miss McC said: ""Christine McGuinness is really pushing herself out of her comfort zone. Quite emotional watching her. "

Cara added: "Love Christine what a brave woman to do this show knowing how much she struggles she is doing her children proud"

Strictly The Real Full Monty continues at 9pm tomorrow on ITV and ITV Hub
