Christine McGuinness' 'awful' time as mum's cancer battle goes on

Christine McGuinness has opened up about how much she's missing her mum, as she faces not seeing her for six months.

Former Miss Liverpool Christine shared an emotional post today about her mum, who is currently going through cancer treatment.

Christine, who is married to Top Gear presenter Paddy, is very close to her mum and relies on her a lot to help with childcare when Paddy is away working.

Earlier this year mum-of-three Christine revealed her mum was suffering from breast cancer.

With coronavirus cases rising again Christine's mum has been told she has to shield, meaning Christine and the family won't be able to hug her for quite some time.

Today Christine shared a photo of her mum with her children and explained the "awful" situation.

She captioned the post: "Weekends aren’t the same without nanny. My mum is a huge part of my children’s routine and they just don’t understand why they can’t see nanny anymore.

"Lots of you have asked how she’s doing, She done amazing with her lumpectomy and is starting six months of chemotherapy and radio therapy next week #FightingCancer.

"Sending love to anyone fighting cancer right now especially those going through it alone because of Covid.

"My mum has got to shield herself for at least six months, it’s awful, we can’t even give her a cuddle. I miss her so much but I’m grateful she is alive, staying positive and ready to try her best. And she is always on the end of the phone.

"Praying this time passes as fast as possible."
