Christine Lampard's daughter 'loves football' as she follows in dad Frank's footsteps

Christine Lampard teased her little girl Patricia could be following in her dad Frank Lampard's football footsteps.

She revealed her daughter, who is nearly three years old, is already in love with the sport and adores kicking a ball around.

Christine joked that Frank was taking it all a little too seriously though, training the toddler and critiquing her skill when in play.

But the mum of two confessed little Patricia could be destined to take on the football world like her dad, as she already loves the sport so much.

Speaking on Lorraine on Tuesday morning, the TV host revealed all about lockdown and the recent arrival of her baby son Freddie.

Returning to work for the first time since his arrival in March, she teased her comeback to the show as she will be stepping in for host Lorraine Kelly for four weeks very soon.

Lorraine usually takes time off over the summer, and Frank's wife will be on hand to host the series while she is away.

During her chat with the host, Christine opened up on little Patricia and Frank's football fun.

Lorraine had said, after they discussed the nerves over England's Euro 2020 final match against Italy: "Patricia, she plays football with her daddy."

Christine replied: "She does, she loves football. I'm not even kidding you. Why wouldn't she? She absolutely loves football."

After watching a clip of the little one kicking the ball around with Frank, Lorraine pointed out: "Do you know what? She's got a really good wee right foot there!"

Christine said: "Do you know the really pathetic thing though, he talks to her like it's a professional premier league player.

"He tells her off like, 'no, no, one two', he does all this sort of football conversation when she's two and a half, Frank.

"She doesn't stand a chance, she is gonna have to be a footballer."

Lorraine joked she would know the offside rule by the age of three, and all there is to know about the sport thanks to Frank's training.

Lorraine airs weekdays at 9am on ITV.
