Love Island winners Paige Turley and Finn Tapp appeared on Lorraine this morning, but things took an awkward turn when Paige’s famous ex was brought up.
Paige, 22, appeared with Finn on the show to discuss her new single with presenter Christine Lampard.
While Finn was singing his praises about Paige’s talents, Lampard brought up the elephant in the room - Paige’s ex-boyfriend, singer Lewis Capaldi.
“I hate to bring up exes but now you're both in the music business, have you spoken to Lewis Capaldi?" she asked.
Paige calmly revealed she hasn’t spoken to Capaldi recently, saying they talked once briefly after she won Love Island’s winter season earlier this year.
"No, after Love Island we exchanged texts, I congratulated him on the Brits and he congratulated me on winning,” she said.
After a momentary pause, Lampard said: “It’s all about Paige and Finn.”
Paige’s new single is a cover of Movin’ Too Fast by Artful Dodger.
The Love Island star previously auditioned for Britain’s Got Talent, revealing her impressive singing voice.
She dated Capaldi, 23, when they were both teenagers in West Lothian, Scotland.
She previously revealed she was on good terms with Capaldi, and that they had exchanged messages about their respective success after Capaldi’s Brit Awards clean sweep earlier this year.
“He text me back to congratulate me on Love Island so it’s good but I haven't really had a chance to catch up with anybody, it’s been hectic,” she told BBC Today in March.
“We're still good friends."
