Christine Lampard opens up on daughter's football ambitions following in hubby Frank's footsteps

Christine Lampard has revealed her daughter's future football ambitions in a recent interview.

The Newtownards-born presenter is currently hosting ITV's Lorraine for four weeks, as the show's Scottish host is taking a break over the summer.

In recent months, Christine also gave birth to her second child, son Freddie, and despite being busy, has revealed to OK! Magazine that she's happy as she's living her dream.

Later in the interview, she revealed that although husband Frank Lampard is over the moon to have a boy in the house, their daughter Patricia "certainly holds daddy's heart."

And there's one hobby of Patricia's that Frank is keen to encourage - her love of football.

Speaking to OK! Magazine, Christine explained: "She is a daddy’s girl at the minute and loves playing football – she can’t get enough of playing football. Even at almost three years old, he’s telling her what to do and all the rest of it, so we’ve got a lot of football going on just with her. They have a lovely little bond."

She then went on to discuss her daughter's passion for the sport, and future ambitions her husband is already seeing. When asked if they had a future England player in the family, Christine responded: "Who knows, but Patricia loves it."

The 42-year-old presenter continued: "I don’t know if Frank’s just the typical dad, but he seems to think she’s got something when it comes to football.

"She’s not even looking at the ball, but she’s able to connect with it, to use his language, and he’s quite impressed with her so far. So who knows? There could be another Lampard on the back of an England shirt one day. Can you imagine?"

Lorraine airs weekdays from 9am on ITV and ITV Hub
