Christine Lampard on daughter, 3, following in husband Frank's footsteps

Christine Lampard has opened up on her daughter following in husband and former footballer Frank's footsteps.

The TV presenter and Everton manager Frank have two children together - Patricia, 3 and Freddie, 1.

Speaking on Loose Women on Wednesday after England women's football victory on Tuesday night, the Newtownards woman said: "We were certainly watching in our house. I thought it was fantastic. I really did, and I sat for the majority of last night's game with my three-year-old girl who loves football.... albeit she's heavily influenced by her father, but she loves football, she goes to a little football class every single week.

"And she thinks it's one of the best things to do, she naturally wants to take a ball to the park with us, she wants to kick it around."

Co-panellist Linda Robson said: "It's in her genes innit?"

Christine continued: "I think it could be, yes, well definitely not from me obviously but it was interesting just chatting with her because it was very normal for her to just sit and watch it with me and we were talking about all of the players and she was asking about the numbers on the shirts...

"And then I suddenly realised she never has really fully appreciated what her dad did as a player, she doesn't get that. And I thought 'imagine if she grew up with a number 8 Lampard shirt and played for England/Northern Ireland' - I'll let her decide which one - but it was just a wonderful moment and I thought 'this is where it's supposed to be'."

Speaking on Lorraine last summer, the mum-of-two spoke about how husband Frank talks to Patricia "like she’s a premier league player".

She said: "He tells her off saying, ‘No, one, two, one two...’ a proper football conversation and I say, ‘She’s two and a half Frank!’... so she doesn’t stand a chance, she has to be a footballer!”
