Christina Grimmie: Note appears on front door of Florida property believed to be killer's family home

A note expressing “deepest sorrow” has reportedly been posted on the home of the family of Christina Grimmie’s killer.

The former Voice contestant, 22, was shot and fatally wounded by James Loibl as she greeted fans after a concert in Florida.

An image of a note stuck to a front door was shared by WFTV 9 Orlando, who identified the property as belonging to Loibl’s family.

The station said knocks on the door went unanswered.

“Deepest sorrow for lost [sic] to the family, friends and fans of the very talented, loving Christina Grimmie,” the note posted on a home in St Petersburg reads. “No other commets (sic).”

One fan who witnessed the shooting claimed Grimmie greeted her killer with open arms as she went to give him a hug before he shot her and then took his own life.

“The one guy in front of us was walking up to meet her. Her arms were open, waiting to greet him with a hug,” Destiny Rivera, 20, told the Daily Mail.

“Then there was a sound of three pops, like balloons. People had brought balloons to the show and the security guards were popping them so at first I thought it was that.

“Then I saw the yellow barricade fall and the two people who had just met her started running away. I saw Christina's leg fall to the side on the ground like a dead weight. I didn't see her face.”

Orlando police said Grimmie’s killer did not appear to know her or have any links with her. Officers said Loibl had travelled across the state to launch the attack.
