Christian Schwochow To Direct 'Nuremberg' Drama Series For Constantin Film

Christian Schwochow

Constantin Film and Big Light Productions have announced that Christian Schwochow, known for his work on 'The Crown' and 'Munich: The Edge of War,' will be directing the upcoming drama series 'Nuremberg.' The show, based on the Nuremberg Trials, will be written by Frank Spotnitz, whose credits include 'The Man in the High Castle' and 'Ransom.'

The series will follow young survivors of World War II who join Allied prosecutors in Nuremberg to try Nazi criminals. However, their pursuit of justice is complicated by secret agendas aimed at establishing a new world order based on power rather than principle.

Schwochow expressed his reverence for the historical significance of the Nuremberg Trials, calling it a pivotal moment in human history that ushered in a new era of accountability and justice. He emphasized the relevance of the story today and his commitment to portraying it faithfully.

Spotnitz praised Schwochow's talent as a director and storyteller, highlighting the importance of capturing the essence of the Nuremberg Trials and the challenges faced by a generation grappling with the aftermath of war.

The series will be executive produced by Constantin chief Oliver Berben, Frank Spotnitz, Friederich Oetker, and Christian Schwochow. Oetker commended Schwochow's deep understanding of the period and the narrative they aim to convey.

Christian Schwochow's recent work includes directing episodes of 'The Crown' and feature films such as 'Je Suis Karl' and 'Munich: The Edge of War.' His involvement in 'Nuremberg' has generated anticipation, especially following his Emmy-nominated work on 'The Crown.'

The collaboration between Schwochow, Spotnitz, and the production team promises to deliver a compelling portrayal of a crucial moment in history, shedding light on the complexities of seeking justice in the aftermath of war.
