Christian Ramirez to Aberdeen transfer news as Stephen Glass faces waiting game for MLS star

Aberdeen boss Stephen Glass will have to play the waiting game in his bid to land US striker Christian Ramirez.

The Dons have agreed a fee with Major League Soccer and personal terms with the 30-year-old, subject to a work permit being sanctioned.

Houston Dynamo, however, want to bring in a replacement before they let Ramirez go. The Texan outfit are active in the market and aim to bring in another striker before the end of the month.

It means that Ramirez won’t start pre-season with his new side.

Glass, however, will be hoping that the move can be sealed quickly as the player will also have to self-isolate on his arrival in Scotland.

The Dons are also looking to get things in place as they open up their Europa Conference League campaign next month, with the draw on Wednesday.

Glass will have a few new faces in his squad at Cormack Park for pre-season.

Loan deals have been agreed with Brighton for their midfielder Teddy Jenks and right-back Jack Gurr is also coming in on a similar deal from Atlanta United.

Player/coach Scott Brown and Jay Emmanuel Thomas have already been signed.

Declan Gallagher has also signed a pre-contract from Motherwell and will come in after Scotland’s Euro 2020 campaign is over.
