Christian Pulisic's father sends heartwarming message ahead of midfielder's move to Chelsea

Christian Pulisic played his last home game for Borussia Dortmund on Saturday, before his protracted summer move to Stamford Bridge.

The 20-year-old was signed by Chelsea in January, but has spent the remainder of the season on loan at Dortmund, the club that he was signed from.

Pulisic joined the German club as a teenager and has made a breakthrough into the first team, making 19 appearances in the Bundesliga this season.

The USA international was given a warm send off prior to his final game at Westfalenstadion. He was presented with flowers and spoke to fans in fluent German, before going onto score his fourth goal of the season as Dortmund came out as 3-2 winners over Fortuna Dusseldorf.

Now, his own father has joined in with the tributes for his son ahead of his move to the Premier League.

In a tweet, Mark Pulisic wrote: "My wife and I had a crazy emotional day. Moving overseas at 15 with a dream, his pro debut at 17, speaking fluent German to 83,000 fans as he thanks them, and leaving the field in the 90th minute to a standing ovation 5 yrs later.

"Sacrifice, self belief, and respect. YOU ARE LOVED."

Pulisic, who can operate on either wing or in behind the main striker, will be hoping to have a just as positive impact at Chelsea as he has at Dortmund.

His signing also may be more important than the Blues first anticipated. With a transfer ban hanging over the club, the winger could be the only addition that Chelsea will be able to make during the summer.
