Christian Pulisic's Chelsea teammates hand Graham Potter Leeds United return instruction

Christian Pulisic could mark his return to injury in Chelsea's Premier League clash with Leeds United. The USMNT star has been out injured since the start of the year after suffering a knee injury against Manchester City.

The forward has missed nine games in total - in which Graham Potter's men have won just once - and will be aiming to replicate his World Cup form that helped Gregg Berhalter's side reach the last-16 in Qatar.

Potter is in desperate need of quality on display at Stamford Bridge after finding himself under the most severe pressure since replacing Thomas Tuchel in September. The Blues come into today's clash with relegation-threatened Leeds on the back of three straight defeats and six games without a win - scoring just one goal scored in that run.

And despite Todd Boehly's spending spree last summer and in January, Pulisic's return to Potter's squad will be a much-welcome addition with goals hard to come by in recent weeks. Since the USA international got injured, Chelsea have only scored three goals.

With a reunion awaiting with Borussia Dortmund next week, Pulisic will be eager to mark his return to action this weekend. The winger has flirted at returning to the Chelsea squad for some while now with a number of social media posts of him involved in first team training.

There are no question marks over his quality within the Chelsea squad, perhaps even calls for him to be straight back in the squad following footage of training online. The short clip shows Pulisic beating Denis Zakaria with a silky flip-flap before firing the ball into the corner of the net.

Whilst it's unclear who exactly is shouting after the strike, a member of the playing squad or staff are heard shouting "He's back! He's back!"

Potter is yet to identify his preferred front three and while it remains very unlikely that the USMNT star will start against Leeds, he is definitely a worthwhile option off the bench.
