Christian Pulisic responds to Eden Hazard comparisons after Chelsea's victory against Watford

Chelsea ace Christian Pulisic has responded after being compared to former Stamford Bridge favourite Eden Hazard following his recent performances.

The United States international has been a standout performer for Frank Lampard's side since the Premier League resumed following a three-month hiatus.

He was pulling the strings again during the 3-0 victory over Watford, winning a penalty that Willian dispatched for the second goal of the game.

Fans have been comparing Pulisic to Hazard during this period and the former Borussia Dortmund man was directly asked about his thoughts on that after the match.

"I feel really confident in my game right now, being on the field and helping my team. I'm just going to continue and keep my confidence high," he told Sky Sports.

"Obviously, he was an incredible player for Chelsea and a world-class player, so I'm not trying to compare myself to him just yet. I'm just trying to be my own player but hopefully the fans like that guy."

Pulisic also spoke about the importance of the victory following the defeat last time out against West Ham, which saw their push for a top-four spot take a hit.

"We needed that one today, we came out with a lot of energy and I'm really proud of the guys. We knew we needed a big result, especially after the last game dropping some points, and we're happy we could get that done.

"I think it was a response, there was a little bit of extra energy today because of that loss and we wanted to prove a point. We did that today."
