Christian Pulisic names the two key areas of his game he must improve while at Chelsea

Christian Pulisic has insisted that he wants to start adding more goals and assists to his game to become more of a lethal forward for Chelsea.

The 21-year-old has had an up and down debut season with the Blues, making little impact at the beginning of the campaign when he was left out regularly by Frank Lampard.

However, the winger started to make an impact in the side, netting five Premier League goals, including a hat-trick in the thumping of Burnley.

Pulisic has been out of action since New Year's Day due to injury, but he explained that he has been keen to work on his game and become more of an asset to the club.

"I want to learn to be even more clinical in front of goal continue to boost my numbers, get more goals and assists," he told Sky Sports.

"I want to be stronger on the ball, being able to hold off players and those are two areas that I'm definitely working on.

"I think it's great to have friendly competition. They're all great guys and it's great to be learning from them and also getting to play with Callum (Hudson-Odoi). It's a strong area of our team."

Pulisic has not played for the Blues since New Year's Day after struggling with an adductor injury.

The American was making his way to recovery just before the season was suspended, having played in a behind-closed-doors match for the U23s.

The time off has given Pulisic the time to fully recover and be back for when football returns, but he does regret not sitting out more with the injury.

"I didn't take it as seriously as I think I should have," he added.

"It was one of those you felt you could do a lot of things but you try to push it that one extra step and realise it's not ready yet.

"It was a frustrating process but I'm feeling good and ready to go again."
