Christian Pulisic officially arrived at Chelsea in the summer and it's taken a while for his career in England to get started.
The USA international's £57m transfer from Borussia Dortmund was confirmed at the beginning of the year, although he was loaned back to the Bundesliga outfit for the remainder of last season.
Pulisic was a late arrival to pre-season following Gold Cup action in the summer, but he showed glimpses of his talent once joining up with his new teammates and was a regular at the start of the campaign.
His debut came as a substitute against Manchester United, then he started the Super Cup loss against Liverpool before starting successive games against Leicester City, Norwich City and Sheffield United.
However, after the first international break of the season came a rocky patch for Pulisic as he found himself out of Frank Lampard's plans. Although, in recent weeks his Chelsea career is showing signs of lift off.
With that said, here's the latest news surrounding Christian Pulisic.
Ajax impact
Before a ball had been kicked in Chelsea's 1-0 win over Ajax on Tuesday evening, some supporters couldn't believe Lampard didn't include Pulisic in the starting line-up.
Having impressed off the bench against Newcastle United four days earlier, many felt the winger had done enough to earn a start.
But Pulisic had to be patient.
And as things turned out, Lampard had a masterplan as he introduced Pulisic in the second half and the forward repaid the faith with an assist for Michy Batshuayi's winning goal.
That stunning cameo earned him an '8' in football.london's player ratings.
National media reaction
It's not just football.london who were impressed with how Pulisic performed after coming on as a second half substitute against Ajax.
The national media had some nice things to say about the American as well as the Blues.
In particular, The Guardian were full of praise for the 21-year-old.
"Pulisic was electric after his introduction, all quick feet and direct running, and it was from his low cross that Batshuayi profited, banging a firm finish in off the underside of the crossbar.
What Lampard has said
Frank Lampard also heaped praise on Pulisic for yet another game changing contribution from the bench.
"It was getting to that point (for changes) due to the input the boys had put in," Lampard told BT Sport. "Add the fact that Christian (Pulisic) had changed the last two games with two assists (helped with the decision).
"He did it again and I thought his performance for the last 25 minutes was outstanding."
Pulisic has now registered two assists from his last three Chelsea appearances.
"Absolutely magnificent"
Even former Manchester United and England midfielder Owen Hagreaves was impressed with Pulisic.
"[Christian] Pulisic is a really good player, technically," he said, speaking on BT Sport's Champions League highlights show. "He probably hasn’t had the game time he would have liked, but on the weekend he was brilliant and he came on in this game and he was terrific.
"Pulisic was absolutely magnificent. Every time he touched the ball, something really good happened, and that is really good for Frank [Lampard] and he is another asset.
"Obviously [Callum] Hudson-Odoi is another brilliant young player, and they have lots of good assets there, to go with your Pedros and your Willians."
