Christian Pulisic handed No10 shirt at Chelsea following Willian departure

Christian Pulisic has been handed Chelsea's number 10 shirt following the departure of Willian.

Despite a slow start, the American enjoyed a fine first season in Premier League football having been handed the chance of replacing Chelsea's former No10, Eden Hazard, who wore the shirt before Willian took it for one season before joining Arsenal.

Hazard left significant boots to fill but, in scoring 10 and claiming 11 assists across an injury-hit first season, Pulisic's direct running and tricky feet have gone some way to filling the hole left at Chelsea.

New signing Hakim Ziyech, who alongside Pulisic is set to miss the start of the season through injury, takes the former Borussia Dortmund man's old No22 shirt.

Fellow summer arrivals Timo Werner (11), Ben Chilwell (21), Kai Havertz (29) and Thiago Silva (6) have all been assigned their new shirt numbers ahead of Chelsea's first game of the season, away at Brighton, on Monday.
