Christian Pulisic 'emerges as Manchester United loan target' plus more rumours

Chelsea's Christian Pulisic has reportedly emerged as a loan target for Manchester United this summer.

According to The Athletic, Pulisic is one of 'a number of targets' which United are looking at as they aim to strengthen their attacking options. Prior to the Reds' heavy defeat at Brentford, Erik ten Hag had confirmed that they were looking at players to strengthen the forward areas due to a lack of depth.

Pulisic, who has slipped down the pecking order at Stamford Bridge recently, is thought to be keen on gaining minutes between now and November ahead of the World Cup in Qatar. It is understood that Chelsea are also interested in bringing in Anthony Gordon from Everton and should this deal go through, Pulisic would be pushed further down the line.

The American's deal at Stamford Bridge is due to expire in 2024. He arrived in London back in 2019 on a £57.6m deal from Bundesliga giants Borussia Dortmund.

Elsewhere, United are also reportedly interested in adding a new goalkeeper to their books before the summer deadline passes. David de Gea was the target of criticism following his performance against the Bees last week which included spilling a Josh Dasilva shot into the back of the net.

United sent Dean Henderson out on a season long loan to Nottingham Forest so a second choice to compete with their Spanish 'keeper is needed. Sky Sports say Borussia Monchengladbach's stopper Yann Sommer is of interest.

They claim that the Reds see any 'keeper that comes in to be competition for De Gea. However, it is believed that Sommer would want to be number one should he make the move to the Premier League.
