Christian Pulisic drops worrying Chelsea transfer hint ahead of Thomas Tuchel meeting

Chelsea forward Christian Pulisic has dropped a potentially worrying transfer hint ahead of a huge meeting with the club about his future. It comes after an inconsistent season for the 23-year-old.

Pulisic made the move to London from Borussia Dortmund in 2019 for just over £50million, with plenty of potential. While there have been sparks of that ability in his career at Chelsea, he is yet to take a first-team shirt for himself, starting one-third of their Premier League games this campaign.

In 22 league appearances, the USMNT international has managed to score six goals and assist two. Discussing the forward to the official Chelsea website, Thomas Tuchel previously praised Pulisic’s ability to fight for a place in the team.

“Christian [Pulisic] was in the same situation as Kai [Havertz],” The German coach said. “Both of them took the responsibility for the turnaround, so it is their responsibility, and they deserve the credit. They did amazingly and you can see it on the pitch.”

However, with the transfer window on the horizon, things look set to change as Tuchel eyes a refresh to his current squad. While the takeover is still awaiting completion, the coach is set to make some big decisions over his transfer options.

One of which could be Pulisic, who’s father voiced his discontent over his lack of playing time earlier this month, sparking speculation over his future. In an equally worrying turn of events, the star has taken to social media, deleting ‘Chelsea FC’ from his bio and changing his profile picture from one of him in a Chelsea kit, to one without on Instagram.

It’s a worrying suggestion as to what the future may hold ahead of a huge meeting with the club. That’s because Fabrizio Romano, via Caught Offside, has claimed that the American is set for a discussion with Tuchel over his future in the coming weeks.

Time will tell exactly what will happen with the forward, but he could be one of a few that make the move away from Stamford Bridge amid the uncertainty.
