Pulisic delivers double injury update
Chelsea star Christian Pulisic has dropped a hint about his – and summer signing Hakim Ziyech's – return from injury.
The American forward has been ruled out since suffering a hamstring injury against Arsenal in the FA Cup final.
Ziyech, meanwhile, picked up a knee injury during a pre-season fixture against Brighton and Hove Albion.
Pulisic posted a picture with Ziyech in training on his Instagram account, captioned ‘soon come!’ as the pair eye a return to first-team action.
Frank Lampard confirmed in his pre-match press conference that Ben Chilwell and Thiago Silva will be available to face Barnsley tonight but failed to mention the aforementioned duo.
It is understood both players should be back within the next week, having ramped up their training regimes to hit the ground running as soon as possible.
Chelsea settled with attacking options
Chelsea won’t be signing any more attacking players in this transfer window amid speculation over a move for Said Benrahma.
The Brentford winger had previously been linked with a switch to Stamford Bridge before the Blues landed Kai Havertz for £71million.
football.london understands any remaining transfer activity in this window will comprise of a goalkeeper – set to be Edouard Mendy – and defensive midfield additions.
As football.london Chelsea correspondent Oliver Harbord explained in his latest Q&A, the Blues transfer business looks virtually finished other than one or two possible additions.

Conor Gallagher made his West Brom debut on Tuesday night after completing a season-long loan move to Slaven Bilic’s side.

After spending last season on loan in the Championship with both Swansea City and Charlton Athletic, the youngster will be hopeful of continuing his impressive development in the English top flight.
