Christian Pulisic airs Chelsea frustration under Thomas Tuchel after Real Madrid win

Christian Pulisic has aired his frustration towards Thomas Tuchel following a distinct lack of playing time.

Chelsea are through to the Champions League final after a comprehensive 3-1 aggregate victory over Real Madrid.

A 1-1 draw in Spain was backed up with a convincing 2-0 win at Stamford Bridge on Wednesday night, with goals from Timo Werner and Mason Mount.

The latter was set up by Pulisic, who came off the bench to make an instant impact against Los Blancos.

It comes after a fine stretch of form with four goals in five games, including the vital away goal against Real at the Alfredo di Stefano Stadium last week.

However, Tuchel opted to play a front three of Mount, Werner and Kai Havertz, leaving the American on the bench.

And the 22-year-old is less than pleased with the German, who coached him when the two were at Borussia Dortmund.

"Very frustrated. Yeah not much else to say," said Pulisic on his lack of playing time.

"I wanted to play from the beginning as I always do.

"I’ve had to continue to prove myself over and over again. But as always I just reach out to God and He gives me strength. With that behind me nothing can stop me really."

Tuchel has overseen a brilliant return of form since taking over in January from Frank Lampard, with Chelsea in the top four of the Premier League.

They are also in the FA Cup final, and now the Champions League final - where they will face Manchester City.

But with such an abundance of attacking riches, the former Paris Saint-Germain boss has some tough decisions to make.

"Christian got a bad message for him today," Tuchel said about his decision to drop Pulisic.

"It was a very tough decision but I’m very happy that Christian turned his anger around into positive energy for the team, helped the team and assisted the decisive goal. So big credit to him."
