When Christian McCaffrey talks, NFL fans should probably listen.
So it goes for a player like McCaffrey, who rushed for not only 1,300-plus yards last year with the Carolina Panthers but also ran for more than 1,000.
The Panthers running back had plenty to say about Rivera on air, per NBC Sports’ Ethan Cadeaux :
“You’re getting a great guy and a heck of a coach,” he said. “Something about Coach Rivera is he’s consistent. He’s the same guy every day. He works his butt off day in and day out. So you guys are getting a really good one.”
That consistency is something the Redskins desperately need and, as we’ve noted recently, Rivera is just one of those guys who won’t let the Redskins fall into their old ways.
When the Redskins hired Rivera, it was pretty clear via the outpouring of love from former and current players that the team had a big hit on its hands.
A player of McCaffrey’s stature being this adamant about the Redskins new coach is nothing but a good sign.
