In some ways, Christian McCaffrey is already the best running back in the NFL as he enters the third year of his career. Other backs can produce more yards after contact, but nobody is as productive or electrifying after the catch.
According to Pro Football Focus, McCaffrey led all pro running backs in yards after catch last season with 860 total.
That put the Panthers’ former first-round pick ahead of rookie phenom Saquon Barkley, who came in second with 787. Here’s the top three.
McCaffrey’s 106 catches also set a new record for running backs in a single season.
