Christian Eriksen speaks out on recent poor form and that transfer speculation

Spurs midfielder Christian Eriksen has insisted that the transfer speculation over certain players' future, including his own, has not had any impact on the club's recent poor performances and results.

Tottenham have lost three of their eight Premier League matches so far this season, and are winless in the Champions League, they also crashed out of the Carabao Cup to League Two side Colchester United.

Eriksen has been one of the players that has underperformed so far this season, with his poor performances being put down to the transfer talk around his future.

However, the Danish international s adamant that this is not the case.

"It doesn’t matter at all. Everyone is professional and in all clubs there is talk of players going away. That side of the matter has no bearing on how we have performed," said the midfielder (via the Metro ).

"If I took all the rumours to me, I would float on a cloud. But I know that it can’t all be true."

Eriksen also revealed that the current situation at the club is the most difficult time he has had since joining Spurs from Ajax in 2013.

Wenger: Pochettino needs to show he can give more to Tottenham

"It’s definitely my hardest time right now at Tottenham," he added.

"Since Pochettino came in 2014 it has been a success story. Expectations for us are at a completely different level now."
