Christian Eriksen sets up two goals during Brentford’s behind-closed-doors friendly with Rangers

Christian Eriksen continued on the comeback trail on Monday afternoon by playing 80 minutes during Brentford’s behind-closed-doors friendly against Scottish champions, Rangers.

The midfielder is yet to play for the first-team following his arrival towards the end of the January transfer window but does appear to be making good progress as he bids to play a competitive game for the first time since his cardiac arrest at Euro 2020.

Rangers sent a team containing the likes of Amad Diallo, Glen Kamara and Steven Davis and played out a 2-2 draw, with Eriksen setting up both of Brentford’s goals.

For the first, he floated in a corner for Mathias Jorgenson after 15 minutes before Diallo leveled the score around ten minutes later.

Rangers then added a second after Diallo pounced on a saved Kemar Roofe penalty, though it was Eriksen’s whipped delivery from a free-kick from which Brentford got back on level terms, this time through Tristan Crama.

Brentford host Newcastle United on Saturday in what looks like a huge game towards the bottom of the Premier League.
