Christian Eriksen sends message to Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg after Tottenham transfer confirmed

Christian Eriksen has sent a good luck message to new Tottenham Hotspur signing Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg.

Linked with a switch to Tottenham Hotspur Stadium back in January, the player has now put pen-to-paper on a five-year contract in north London and becomes Jose Mourinho's first summer arrival in the process.

Everton were also interested in signing the Danish international after four impressive seasons on the south coast but the player instead had set his heart on a move to Spurs.

And Eriksen, who left Spurs to join Inter Milan in January, has been quick to wish his international team-mate well in his new venture.

How to pronounce Hojbjerg

Taking to Twitter, he wrote: “@SpursOfficial i know you know how to take good care of the Danes. So im sure you will do the same with @hojbjerg23 good luck.”

“What was very important for me is that I wanted to play in a club where I could see myself for many years, and Tottenham was just the one,” Hojbjerg said after his signing was announced.

“I'm very proud, happy, excited. There is a fantastic future ahead for the club and I wanted so much to be a part of that.

“If you want to achieve the big things I think you need 11 leaders on the pitch. To do that everybody needs to take responsibility in their position, bringing everything they have into the team.

“I like to say that whatever you put in you get out. Spurs have fantastic players, fantastic manager, fantastic set-up.”
