Christian Eriksen's agent confirms he's now conscious, breathing and able to speak

Christian Eriksen's agent has confirmed the Denmark midfielder is now conscious, breathing and able to speak after collapsing in traumatic scenes during his country's Euro 2020 opener.

The Inter Milan playmaker suddenly fell with nobody around him in the closing stages of Denmark's match with Finland, with traumatic scenes showing the 29-year-old undergoing CPR and extensive emergency treatment from paramedics.

Eriksen was surrounded by shocked and worried team-mates, many of whom formed a shield to provide some privacy as the medical staff continued their work.

Football fans from all over the world flocked to social media to pray for Eriksen's recovery and it seems there's finally some positive news.

Martin Schoots, Eriksen's advisor and representative, has been speaking to Danish Radio Station NPO Radio1 and has been in close contact with the Eriksen family in the last hour or so.

The match was officially postponed by English referee Anthony Taylor, with UEFA confirming there will be an official update later this evening.

Eriksen is regarded as one of the most accomplished Danish players of his generation, having cemented his status as one of European football's top midfield players during spells with Ajax, Tottenham and Inter Milan.
