Denmark midfielder Christian Eriksen paid a visit to Inter Milan’s training ground on Wednesday and was in “excellent physical and mental shape”, according to the Italian club.

Eriksen suffered a cardiac arrest during Denmark’s match with Finland at Euro 2020 and he received CPR and a shock from a defibrillator on the pitch.

The 29-year-old was admitted to hospital after the incident, but he has since been discharged and his club, Inter, say he is recovering well.

Erisken paid a visit to the Serie A champions training ground on Wednesday and he will now follow a recovery programme put forward by Danish doctors in Copenhagen.

“This morning Christian Eriksen paid a visit to the Suning Training Centre in Appiano Gentile,” read a statement from Inter Milan on Wednesday.

“The Danish midfielder met the club directors, the coach, team-mates and all of the staff present. Eriksen is doing well and is in excellent physical and mental shape.

“He will now follow the recovery programme put forward by Danish doctors in Copenhagen, who will also co-ordinate the clinical follow-up.

“The Inter medical staff will naturally be kept informed and up to date throughout the process.”
