Christian Eriksen latest update issued as Denmark player 'stable' and in touch with team-mates

The Danish Football Association have issued a fresh condition update on Christian Eriksen, who is in a stable condition as of Sunday morning after collapsing during Denmark v Finland in Euro 2020.

Shortly before half time of his side's clash with Finland on Saturday, Eriksen fell to the turf and needed urgent medical assistance.

He was given CPR on the pitch before being carried out of Copenhagen's Parken Stadium on a stretcher.

The Inter Milan star was subsequently taken to hospital where he has been assessed and is now in a stable condition.

The Danish FA have confirmed on Sunday morning that Eriksen has been in contact with his Denmark team-mates.

A statement read: "This morning we have spoken to Christian Eriksen, who has sent his greetings to his team-mates.

"His condition is stable, and he continues to be hospitalised for further examination.

"The team and staff of the national team has received crisis assistance and will continue to be there for each other after yesterday's incident.

"We would like to thank everyone for the heartfelt greetings to Christian Eriksen from fans, players, the Royal Families from both Denmark and England, international associations, clubs etc.

"We encourage everyone to send their greetings to the Danish FA, where we will make sure they are all passed on to Christian and his family."

After a significant delay in the game, play resumed as Finland secured a 1-0 win over Denmark in Copenhagen.

Eriksen will continue to be assessed as Denmark prepare to face Belgium and Russia in their remaining Euro 2020 group matches.
