The transfer window closes on Monday evening and time is running out for Dele Alli to seal an exit from Tottenham.
Jose Mourinho has frozen the midfielder out of his plans this season, with his last appearance coming in the FA Cup third-round victory over minnows Marine.
An opportunity for a reunion with former Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino has presented itself, with Paris Saint-Germain looking to secure a loan deal.
However, Alli has a number of hurdles to overcome if he is able to complete an exit from north London prior to Monday's deadline.
According to the Mirror, Alli's hopes of a move now hinge on former teammate Christian Eriksen - who has struggled to make an impact at Inter Milan.
The Denmark international has been linked with a return to the Premier League throughout January but no movement has been forthcoming.
Now though, following Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg's injury, it's stated Spurs are looking to bring Eriksen back to the club he left just 12 months ago.
While Mourinho is open to letting Alli leave, Daniel Levy holds the final say and is reluctant to approve the proposed transfer unless a replacement for Hojbjerg can be drafted in.
Securing a deal so late in the window is a difficult task, particularly as Inter boss Antonio Conte stated last week there would be no departures from the San Siro.
Even if Eriksen is drafted in, there still might not be enough time for Alli's move to be sanctioned - which would represent a huge blow to the England international's chances of getting his career back on track.
