Christian Eriksen hints at Tottenham stay after Champions League draw

Christian Eriksen has hinted that he will be at Tottenham beyond the end of the European transfer window.

The Dane was keen to leave the club this summer, beginning the transfer window by stating that he was keen to "try something new" after establishing himself among the Premier League's best talents.

Eriksen did not rule out staying at Spurs "if there are no exciting offers" and, with the window set to end on September 2, Standard Sport understands no desired club - Real Madrid or Barcelona - have lodged a bid.

Manchester United had hoped to convince Eriksen to join them only to pull out of talks after becoming convinced of the player's desire to move to Spain.

Following Thursday's Champions League draw, the midfielder posted on his Instagram about Tottenham drawing Bayern Munich, Olympiacos and Red Star Belgrade with the message: "Champions League nights."

Tottenham begin their Champions League away at Olympiacos on September 18, before welcoming Bayern to N17 on October 1.
