Christian Eriksen health update as Danish FA thank wellwishers after Euro 2020 collapse

Danish playmaker Christian Eriksen is "stable" and has sent messages to his teammates following the terrifying collapse at in his country's Euro 2020 opener.

The clash with Finland was called to a halt when the Inter Milan man collapsed to the ground before half time.

The Parken Stadium was forced into a shocked silence as Eriksen received emergency treatment from medical staff.

The Danish FA now say that the former Tottenham star has spoken to his teammates from hospital.

They have also put plans in place to offer "crisis assistance" to all members of the team involved in the game.

A statement read: "This morning we have spoken to Christian Eriksen, who has sent his greetings to his teammates.

"His condition is stable, and he continues to be hospitalised for further examination.

"The team and staff of the national team has received crisis assistance and will continue to be there for each other after yesterday’s incident.

"We would like to thank everyone for the heartfelt greetings to Christian Eriksen from fans, players, the royal families from both Denmark and England, international associations, clubs etc.

"We encourage everyone to send their greetings to the Danish FA, where we will make sure that they will be passed on to Christian and his family.”

UEFA and the teams made the decision to resume the opener which ended in a narrow 1-0 win for the Finnish side.
