Christian Eriksen explains what Alejandro Garnacho has learned during Manchester United training

Manchester United's Christian Eriksen has said Alejandro Garnacho is now learning when to pass and dribble at the right time.

Garnacho made his debut from the bench for United against Chelsea last season and he was handed his full debut against FC Sheriff in the Europa League last month, with Erik ten Hag giving the youngster his first start for the first-team.

The 18-year-old has impressed in recent weeks and Ten Hag turned to him for inspiration on the bench on Sunday afternoon. United were drawing 1-1 with Fulham at Craven Cottage and Garnacho had just 20 minutes to try to make an impact.

The game looked set to end with the points shared, but Garnacho was eventually able to make the impact that Ten Hag had hoped for when scoring a dramatic, late match-winning goal in stoppage time.

Eriksen, who assisted the winner, praised Garnacho after the match and he opened up about what the youngster is learning.

"He's shown what he's capable of," Eriksen told MUTV. "He's very direct and he's starting to learn when to pass and when to dribble. He's a big talent and hopefully he will continue his journey and it will be fun to see him in the future.

"You want to finish as good as possible just before this break. There is no more club football games for a long time now, so, of course, it's a good win, it's a good feeling to go off like that to the World Cup. It was a good night in the end.

"There have been some ups and downs [season], some losses but you get that. I think in general we bounced back from the losses we had and really took another step. Yeah, in the end, the ugly wins are very important in the Premier League.

"It's a long season, you need all the points you can get and today we fought hard to get it."
