Christian Eriksen contract: Tottenham star focusing on the football amid ongoing speculation

Christian Eriksen is focusing on performing for Tottenham as speculation over his contract continues.

The midfielder has been in discussions over an extension to his current terms for many months as Spurs look to tie down the star beyond 2020.

Standard Sport understands Eriksen continues to stall on putting pen to paper on a deal which would, at least, double his current £75,000-a-week wage.

Eriksen's agent, Martin Schoots, says his client continues to focus on what's required of him on the pitch despite ongoing uncertainty.

"Christian only wants to focus himself on football," his agent told ESPN.

"Besides his technical, tactical and athletic skills, also this attitude has contributed over the years to his impressive transformation from world-class talent to world-class player.

"At this moment I would prefer not to join the speculations about contracts and transfers."

Tottenham have tied down the likes of Harry Kane, Dele Alli, Heung-min Son and manager Mauricio Pochettino on bumper new deals since the end of last season.
