Christian Eriksen 'awake and stabilised' as picture shows him after collapse

Pictures have emerged showing Christian Eriksen sitting up and awake as he was stretchered off the field after collapsing during Denmark's Euro 2020 clash with Finland.

UEFA have also described his condition as 'stabilised' following the distressing scenes that unfolded in Copenhagen.

In the first half, the midfielder fell to the ground, with medics rushing to his aid.

His team-mates formed a shield as first responders performed CPR and the game was suspended.

Amid heartbreaking scenes, Eriksen's partner Sabrina Kvist Jensen was seen being comforted by players before the TV feed was cut.

Eriksen is now in hospital. You can follow the latest updates here.

In a short statement, UEFA said: "Following the medical emergency involving Denmark’s player Christian Eriksen, a crisis meeting has taken place with both teams and match officials and further information will be communicated at 19:45 CET.

"The player has been transferred to the hospital and has been stabilised."

The Danish FA confirmed Eriksen is awake and undergoing further examinations.
