Christian Benteke's message for his Crystal Palace team-mates as he opens up on his frustrations

Christian Benteke has hinted that he is unhappy at the service he is being given up front at Crystal Palace, following the Eagles' defeat at Sheffield United.

The Eagles lost out 1-0 at Bramall Lane yesterday (Sunday), with Benteke cutting a frustrated figure up front as Palace failed to create many chances against a resolute Sheffield United side.

And the Belgian international spoke of his frustration after the game as he revealed where he feels it is going wrong for him and his team-mates.

"It was a frustrating afternoon out there, not just for me but for the team. We came here with the mindset to get the three points and we did not get that and it’s a frustrating afternoon," Benteke told Palace TV.

"We didn’t deserve to win to be honest, if you look at our second half."

Meanwhile, Benteke has called for more from his team-mates as he looks to put a disappointing couple of years behind him, having only scored four times in his last 49 appearances for the Eagles over the past two seasons.

Injuries have been a problem for the Belgian, but he, like the rest of his team-mates, has again struggled in front of goal so far this season, with the Eagles having failed to score in each of their first two games.

"I think that is our problem [creating opportunities in front of goal]; we don’t create enough chances. I think it is about the animation, we have to be more available for each other and we have to work on it," he said.

"It is no excuse. We knew they would be extra motivated, as they’d just got back to the Premier League. We knew that is was going to be a tough game, battle. I think the first half was okay but the second was not good enough."
