Christian Aid charity sale in Edinburgh sees over 100,000 books up for grabs

Calling all bookworms, record lovers and antique hunters, there is a huge charity sale taking place in Edinburgh, kicking off today.

The Christian Aid book sale has raised over £2 million since it started in 1974, funding the charity's work to end poverty.

You will not be disappointed, with over 100,000 books of every kind filling the sanctuary and both courtyards.

Upstairs, in the gallery, you will also find sheet music, while downstairs in the Undercroft Café lies a gallery of pictures and delicious homebaking.

Elsewhere, in the Davidson Room, you’ll find a treasure trove of antiques and collectables, toys, records, stamps and postcards - what more could you want?

To get your hand on these bargain buys head to St Andrew's and St George's West Church on George Street.

The sale kicks off today (11 May) at 10am and runs until next Friday (17 May).
