Chrissy Teigen's 'Vibrant and Fresh' Friendsgiving Table Setting Reimagines Holiday Decor with a Bold, Unexpected Chic Twist

Chrissy Teigen.

Traditional Thanksgiving decor typically adheres to a warm, neutral color palette – red, orange, yellow, and brown – drawing inspiration from gourds, fall leaves, and hand turkeys. However, who says you can't break from this classic harvest season aesthetic?

Chrissy Teigen's Friendsgiving table decor boldly challenged this idea during a Friendsgiving dinner celebrating her brand, Cravings, back in 2023. She hosted the meal outdoors, creating a cozy atmosphere with heaters and Christmas lights, and set a table covered in seasonal greenery.

The most unexpected element was the heavy reliance on lime green in the color scheme, most notably seen in the velvet upholstered lime green dining chairs, and we've found a similar version from Soho Home below.

Interior designers praised this vibrant choice. San Francisco-based interior designer Soledad Alzaga stated, 'Using lime green Thanksgiving decor can add a vibrant and fresh touch to your tablescape. Lime green is a fun and bright color you can mix well with other fall colors like browns, oranges, and gold to maintain a Thanksgiving decor aesthetic.'

Artem Kropovinsky, an NYC-based interior designer and founder of Arsight, added that the lime green chairs give off an exciting energy. 'They add a dash of contemporary vigor to the traditional holiday table decor,' he says.

He also noted that the greenery is adopted to give it a natural feel, just like the harvest seasons. It blends well with colorful accents, creating a visually enticing table setting.

If you want to recreate this green dining room look for your own Thanksgiving table, Soledad suggested: 'Not everybody has lime green chairs, but you can green cushions or chair pads on the seats to copy this look, and a ribbon or napkin rings to tie the theme together.'

She also recommended creating a centerpiece with lime green flowers, like mums or green hydrangeas, and adding limes and lemons around the table for a bright and fresh tablescape.

For a stunning Thanksgiving table setting, Artem advises 'going for a statement color like lime to immediately refresh typical holiday decorations. For depth, mix textures and materials. Make the table more varied and exciting by thinking of ceramics, glasses, or fabrics.'

He concluded that embracing a mix of styles – blending modern and traditional decor – can really spice up the Thanksgiving table. Now is the perfect time to start planning.
